I have a free gift for you to help figure out why you aren’t feeling good despite your best efforts to “eat healthy”.

The saying “You are what you eat” is a little misleading because there is a lot more to it.   More truthfully, “you are what you can digest and absorb”.  And there is a big distinction here.

Eating is putting food in your mouth, chewing and swallowing.

Digesting is breaking down the food by mechanical and enzymatic actions into substances (vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, amino acids) your body can use.

Absorption is when these substances (nutrients) pass through the intestinal wall and into your bloodstream so they can be transported into your cells.

Eating healthy food is a great first step but if your body can’t breakdown the food, then you can’t absorb and use the nutrients.  In short, you are not getting the full benefit of the food for your body to function optimally.

Those nutrients act as catalysts to a host of events and communications in your body.

If you aren’t getting the nutrients, you are left deficient and your body can’t complete the chain of events and you start to feel signs and symptoms:  aches, fatigue, anxiety, bowel irregularity, hormone imbalances… the list goes on.

And not being able to digest one food can cause you to not be able to digest another.

Undigested food can cause gas, bloating, and can create a layer of film that blocks your intestinal tract from absorbing nutrients. Undigested food can also cause gaps that break the integrity of your intestinal wall and allow undigested food to pass through.  This can cause an immune response in your body.

If you are eating healthy and are not feeling good, somewhere along the way you are not digesting your food or absorbing the nutrients.  The question is “what foods are causing that?”

That is not so easy to answer.

Keeping a journal can help you find some answers if you track the foods you are eating and how your body is reacting to them.  That includes your sleep, your bowel movements, and any signs and symptoms you may have.

Then you have to look for patterns.

This is where the detective work begins.

I want to share my Gut & Hormone Healing Journal with you so you can start being your own detective.  I invite you to click here to download. This simple tool will help you put some structure around what you eat and how you feel.

Be safe.
