Happy New Year!

I hope you’ve had a wonderful holiday season with family and friends and are enjoying today to sit back, reflect and plan for the year ahead.

It’s cold here in Fairfax and I’m so excited!

It’s been c-h-i-l-l-y in the North Bay for a good month now. I have actually been able to wear my warm sweaters and coats and I love it.  I’m a Chicago girl and, it turns out, I NEED a little winter. (That’s why I visit Chicago in February!)

I know I’ve complained a little about the hot fall weather here so now that we are getting a little bit of cold I am celebrating.

I wanted to share healthy versions of 3 popular and comforting lattes for you that are perfect for this weather. And 2 other latte recipes that you may not have ever tried.  Enter your email here to download the recipes.  It’s a one-page printout that you can keep on your fridge this winter.

The download includes recipes for

Chai Masala
Pumpkin Spice
Mexican Chocolate
Ginger Turmeric
Vanilla Maca

I know you can find some of these at Starbucks and other coffee shops but these are the REAL deal.  No sugar-ladened syrups or  artificial and ‘natural’ flavors added here.

I recommend using Rooibos, Tulsi or Roasted Dandelion Root as the base.  These are caffeine-free herbal teas that are nourishing for your adrenals and liver.

Rooibos has mild sweet floral flavor.  It’s a great anti-oxidant tea. It goes well with the Chai Masala and Vanilla Maca.

Tulsi (aka Holy Basil) has a mild peppermint flavor and is very good for the adrenals.  It goes well with the Mexican Chocolate.

Roasted Dandelion Root Tea has a deeper, bitter, earthy flavor. It makes a great coffee-flavor substitute and is super nourishing for the liver. It’s my favorite and works well with all of the lattes.  I really like it with Pumpkin Spice, Mexican Chocolate and Ginger Turmeric.

As you sip your delicious latte, you can ponder your New Year’s Resolution.
